T-Mobile Locked Motorola Charm Rooted to Run Custom ROMs

The T-Mobile locked version of the Motorola Charm went up for sale pretty recently and that is as much as it takes for the geniuses over at xda-developers to get the omnipresent custom ROM root running on it with effective success. The Charm is anyway a great Android handset that comes packed with top-of-the-line features, and if it can run Custom ROMs to allow for tethering and other attractive services, things definitely can get even better for the users.

What is still not unclear though is whether some kind of an external source was used to get the ROMs running on the Charm as Motorola’s security enhancements prevent the ROMs from directly running on the handset.

Nonetheless, we can still rejoice for the fact that the root did happen for the smartphone that touts a candy bar QWERTY keyboard form factor. We also love the Motorola Charm for the presence of the MOTOBLUR UI as well as a pretty decent 3MP camera integration. Hail XDA!
